You thought parenting would get easier once your baby started sleeping through the night. Then they hit their terrible twos. Then they reached the age where they start asking difficult questions, like the dreaded, "Where do babies come from?"
Still, nothing could have prepared you for the "tween" years.
Did you know, children up to 13 years old are safer in the back seat? Your 10-year-old may insist she's grown-up enough to ride in the front, but the force of an airbag deploying in a crash can be deadly for smaller passengers.
Until your child reaches about 4-foot-9-inches in height, they will also need to use a booster seat for correct seatbelt fit. When seatbelts fit poorly, covering the abdomen or neck, they cannot protect your child the way they were designed to.
Getting an older child to agree to sit on a booster may involve fighting against middle-school ego, but at least installing the seat in your 2017 Ford Escape will be easy!
